School officials announced that the Arkansas QB was injured "above the shoulders."
That's the same terminology the school used to describe an injury suffered by wide receiver Cobi Hamilton against Jacksonville State in Week 1. Hamilton returned to the lineup against the Warhawks tonight and recorded a 1st half TD catch.
On the night, Wilson completed 11 of 20 passes for 196 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception.
He was replaced by redshirt freshman Brandon Allen, who led the Hogs on a scoring drive in the 3rd quarter. He hooked up with fellow freshman Mekale McKay on a 13-yard strike, marking the first collegiate score for both players.
Without knowing the extent of Wilson's injury, it's definitely a smart move to play it safe, with a monster matchup against #1 Alabama looming next week.
****UPDATE 9:28 PM****
Wilson wasn't the only one to go down.
The scariest moment came in the 4th quarter, when sophomore CB Tevin Mitchel collided facemask-to-facemask with teammate Alonzo Highsmith.
Emergency personnel immediately rushed onto the field, as Mitchel was stabilized and carted off the field.
Similar to Wilson, officials are describing it as an "injury above the shoulders" but they announced that Mitchel was verbally responsive with medical personnel.
Minutes later, Arkansas FB Kody Walker went down.
An aircast was put on his leg, and he was also carted off the field.
Walker replaced Kiero Small who suffered a foot injury during a non-contact football drill. Head Coach John L. Smith announced Thursday that Small will require surgery.
*****UPDATE 12:36 PM *****
John L. Smith released a statement Sunday morning updating all of the injuries.
Both Tyler Wilson and Tevin Mitchel were kept in Little Rock Saturday night.
Wilson "took a hit to the head" and is day-to-day for Saturday's game against Alabama.
Mitchel "suffered an injury above the shoulders" and the testing done came back favorable for him to recover. He is doubtful for Saturday.
The biggest blow came from Kody Walker. The sophomore running back-turned-fullback suffered a lower leg injury and is likely out for the season.
Little Rock native Kaelon Kelleybrew has a bruised arm and is probable for Saturday's game.
