Arkansas State will go up against seven opponents who registered at least 16 victories a season ago.  Overall, the Red Wolves will have 12 games against teams ranked among the top-175 in the final RPI standings for the 2012-13 campaign.

A-State will face a challenging schedule, which consists of 18 Sun Belt Conference (SBC) games along with 12 non-conference contests.  The Red Wolves are slated to play 17 home games inside the Convocation Center for the 2013-14 campaign, starting with season-opening exhibitions against in-state schools Henderson State Nov. 2 and Arkansas-Monticello Nov. 5.

The non-conference schedule includes trips to Wyoming Nov. 16 and Colorado Nov. 18 along with away encounters against Nebraska Dec. 14 and Marshall Dec. 21.  The Red Wolves will face quality opponents at home as Central Arkansas visits Nov. 24 while Niagara and Toledo make Convocation Center appearances on Dec. 2 and Dec. 17, respectively.  Colorado, which placed 43rd overall in the final RPI rankings, played in the NCAA Tournament last season while Niagara competed in the National Invitational Tournament (NIT).  Wyoming (87th), Nebraska (103rd), and Niagara (130th) are also included in the RPI’s top 140 teams from a season ago.

“We are excited about our schedule for this upcoming season,” said Brady, who will begin his sixth season at A-State this 2013-14 campaign.  “ We have some challenging games early, particularly on the road and also home games against some teams which our fans may not have seen before but definitely good teams nevertheless.

“The Sun Belt Conference schedule will be challenging as well but at the end of the season it definitely lends our way with the number of home games we have.  We are looking forward to the season and really like our basketball team,” added Brady.

The Red Wolves will begin defense of their Sun Belt Conference West Division Championship title in early January 2014 with conference road outings against a pair of league newcomers in Texas-Arlington on Jan. 2 followed by Texas State Jan. 4.  The following week, A-State opens the home portion of its conference schedule with contests versus Troy on Jan. 9 and South Alabama Jan. 11.  Western Kentucky, the 2013 SBC Tournament Champion and a NCAA Tournament participant, welcomes the Red Wolves on Jan. 18 before venturing to Jonesboro Feb. 10 in the second and final regular-season meeting between the two conference schools.

An annual highlight of Arkansas State’s schedule is the competitive home-and-home conference series with in-state rival UALR.  A-State will entertain the Trojans Jan. 15 at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro before visiting UALR on March 1 at the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock, Ark., in what represents their final conference regular-season road appearance.

The Red Wolves close out the 2013-14 regular season in early March at home withthree Sun Belt Conference tilts in one week.  A-State begins its home stand versus Georgia State Mar. 4 followed by a visit from ULM on Mar. 6.  Coach Brady’s squad will square off against West Division foe Louisiana-Lafayette on Mar. 8 for A-State’s Senior Night in the regular-season finale.
