New York, NY (Sports Network) - Alicia Keys has been chosen to sing the national anthem at Super Bowl XLVII on Feb. 3.

The NFL made the announcement Friday.

Keys, a 14-time Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter, will perform at the Super Bowl for a third time, the most by any performer in Super Bowl history. She sang "America the Beautiful" before Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005, and then was part of the pregame show three years later.

The NFL previously announced that Beyonce, who performed the national anthem prior to Super Bowl XXXVIII, will be the star of the halftime show.

The Super Bowl teams will be determined Sunday, when the San Francisco 49ers play the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship and the Baltimore Ravens face the New England Patriots in the AFC title game.

Kelly Clarkson sang the national anthem at last year's Super Bowl in Indianapolis.
