OXFORD, Miss. – The series opener between No. 17 Arkansas and 22nd-ranked Ole Miss was suspended with the Rebels leading 6-1 in the top of the fourth inning.

The series opener will resume at 2 p.m. (CT) on Saturday afternoon. Game two of the series will be played following the conclusion of game one.

Arkansas had a runner at first with two outs in the top of the fourth inning when heavy rain started to fall. The game went into a delay at 7:32 p.m. (CT) and continued rain did not allow the game to resume.

The Rebels scored in each of the first three innings, scoring two runs in the first, three runs in the second and a run in the third. Arkansas scored its only run of the game on a leadoff home run by Sam Bates in the top of the second. The homer for Bates was his team-leading sixth of the season.

Brandon Moore started on the mound for Arkansas and allowed six runs, four earned, on six hits in 2.1 innings. Randall Fant was pitching for the Razorbacks when the game went into a delay. Fant recorded the final two outs in the bottom of the third.

Bobby Wahl started for Ole Miss and gave up a run on four hits with four strikeouts in 3.2 innings.
