GARLAND, Texas (AP) — Mitchell Anderson scored four of his 16 points in overtime to help Arkansas-Pine Bluff to a 60-56 victory against Alabama State in a Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament quarterfinal on Thursday night.

Daniel Broughton had 13 points and Savalace Townsend 11 points and 10 rebounds for the fifth-seeded Golden Lions (11-21), who face top seed Mississippi Valley State on Friday in a semifinal contest. Arkansas-Pine Bluff handed the Delta Devils their only conference loss of the season on March 1.

Tramaine Butler had 18 points and 10 rebounds while making four 3-pointers for the No. 4-seeded Hornets (12-19). Phillip Crawford added 13 points.

Anderson's dunk gave Arkansas-Pine Bluff a 59-56 lead with 29 seconds remaining in overtime. Alabama State missed two shots on its end, and Townsend's free throw with eight seconds to go made it a two-possession game.

Townsend's layup tied the score at 51-all with three seconds left in regulation and forced overtime. The Golden Lions overcame a 10-point deficit with seven minutes remaining.
