JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas State could win the Sun Belt Conference championship outright with a victory Saturday over Troy.
The Red Wolves are 9-2 overall and 7-0 in conference play in Hugh Freeze's first season as head coach. Arkansas State already has secured a share of the championship, and has accepted an invitation to the GoDaddy.com Bowl in Mobile, Ala., on Jan. 8.
The Arkansas State-Troy all-time series is tied 5-5. The Trojans (3-8) have won the past four meetings, including last year's 35-28 victory.
A win on Saturday would make the Red Wolves just the third school to ever go undefeated in Sun Belt Conference play.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. in Jonesboro
