JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas State University is looking for a new athletic director.
The university announced Tuesday that athletic director Dean Lee will move to an associate chancellor position in the school's fundraising arm.
Chancellor Tim Hudson says the school is conducting a national search for someone to fill Lee's shoes. Lee has held the post for a decade.
Associate athletic director Doug Abel will serve as interim director of athletics until ASU hires a candidate.
The university says Lee will receive the same salary he's been getting as athletic director, $150,123.
Last season, the ASU football team went undefeated in Sun Belt Conference play, though it lost head coach Hugh Freeze to Ole Miss. Lee hired Gus Malzahn away from an assistant coach slot at Auburn as Freeze's replacement.
