JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas State officials say a total of 172 athletes are on the Sun Belt Commissioner's List or the Academic Honor Roll.
Officials said Tuesday that a record 1,793 Sun Belt Conference student athletes earned a grade point average 3.0 or higher for the previous school year.
Last season, 154 Arkansas State student athletes were either on the Commissioner's List or the Academic Honor Roll. Ninety-four students are on the Commissioner's List, which honors students who earned a 3.5 or higher GPA.
The Red Wolves had 21 football players, 10 baseball players, six women's basketball players and seven tennis players on the Commissioner's List.
Women's volleyball topped the league with 10 selections to the SBC Academic Honor Roll, while every sport had at least one student-athlete make SBC Academic Honor Roll.
