Arkansas State beats Arkansas-Little Rock 8-5

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Anthony Hecht had three RBIs to lead Arkansas State to an 8-5 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock in Sun Belt Conference play.

The Red Wolves (30-21, 17-9 SBC) were trailing 3-2 when Arkansas State rallied for four runs in the fifth, including a run-scoring walk by Hecht on Thursday. Arkansas-Little Rock (26-26, 12-16) closed the gap with runs in the seventh and eighth innings, but scoring stalled in the ninth.

Hecht was 1-for-3 and Stuart Levy added two RBIs for Arkansas State. Nick Rountree and Blake Johnson each had home runs for the Trojans.

Jacob Lee (8-1) allowed five hits and three runs in five innings for Arkansas State. John Koch earned his 11th save.

Chance Cleveland (9-4) allowed five hits and six runs in 4 2-3 innings for Arkansas-Little Rock.
