JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — It will be a battle of the "Red" when Arkansas State returns to the baseball diamond Tuesday for its second game of the season against Southeast Missouri State.
The Red Wolves (21-16) are coming off a weekend series in which they won two of three games against Western Kentucky. Arkansas State beat the Hilltoppers 5-0 in the first game, lost to Western Kentucky 8-3 in the second match and won the third game 6-3 on Sunday.
The Red Wolves hold a 31-28 edge in the all-time series with the Redhawks, including a 10-5 victory in Jonesboro during a March 27 meeting between the two teams. Southeast Missouri beat Arkansas State twice during the 2011 season, winning 8-5 in Jonesboro and 13-7 in Cape Girardeau.
Tuesday's game starts at 5 p.m.
