A second-round advantage proved to be all the Arkansas State women's golf team needed to win the Lady Red Wolves Classic for the third straight year.

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — A second-round advantage proved to be all the Arkansas State women's golf team needed to win the Lady Red Wolves Classic for the third straight year.

Arkansas State shot a combined 594 to edge Murray State by three strokes. The tournament in Jonesboro ended early on Tuesday after the final round was cancelled because of rain and unplayable conditions on the golf course.

Arkansas State's Jennifer Loiacano shot a 1-over par to win the individual title. Murray State's Alex Lennartsson was two strokes back in second place.

The Red Wolves trailed Murray State by four strokes after the first round, but turned in a 295 in the second round to take a three-shot lead over the Racers.

Arkansas State will compete at a tournament in Tennessee next week.
