Arkansas shuts out Tennessee 8-0 in SEC play

DJ Baxendale allowed just two hits and Matt Reynolds and Derrick Bleeker had three RBIs apiece to lead Arkansas to an 8-0 victory over Tennessee in Knoxville.

Reynolds' homer came in a two-run first inning that gave the Razorbacks (37-17, 14-14 Southeastern Conference) an early 2-0 lead on Thursday. Bleeker led off the second inning with a home run, and Reynolds added a two-run double as Arkansas widened its lead to 6-0.

Reynolds was 3-for-5 and Derrick Bleeker was 3-for-4 for the Razorbacks.

Baxendale (7-3) shut Tennessee (24-29, 8-20) down offensively, striking out seven in eight innings. Wright allowed no hits or runs in one inning of relief.

Dalton Saberhagen (5-3) allowed seven hits and seven runs in two innings to take the loss for the Volunteers.
