FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — If the Class 7A state playoffs have a familiar feel to them, it's with good reason.
And that feeling could become even more familiar next week — if the remaining four 7A-West Conference teams win this week.
Bentonville, Fort Smith Southside, Fayetteville and Springdale Har-Ber each reached the semifinals last season, with Bentonville eventually defeating Fayetteville in the championship game. All four are still alive in this week's quarterfinals, and a member from the conference has won the last six straight titles.
Top-seeded and defending champion Bentonville hosts West Memphis this week, while Southside hosts rival Fort Smith Northside in a rematch of a game the Rebels won 56-7 two weeks ago. Fayetteville travels to Conway, while Springdale Har-Ber is at North Little Rock.
