HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — David Berrete scored 12 points and Bobby Portis added 11 as Little Rock Hall pulled away in the second half for a 42-31 win over Fayetteville in the boys Class 7A Arkansas state championship game.
The title is the third in a row and fourth in five years for the Warriors (27-3).
Hall trailed 19-15 at halftime but outscored the Bulldogs (23-7) 14-4 in the third quarter. The 6-foot-9 Portis had 7 points during the quarter, including a dunk on the break and a 3-pointer to close out the quarter that put the Warriors up 29-23.
Malik Fields had 8 points to lead Fayetteville, which was just 14 of 42 (33 percent) from the field.
