CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — Eddie Camara's 19-yard field goal with 1:02 to play gave Central Arkansas a 23-22 victory over Texas State on Saturday.
It was the seventh consecutive win for the Bears (8-3). Central Arkansas, guaranteed a second-place finish in the Southland Conference, is idle next week and will wait to see if they qualify for the FCS playoffs which begin in two weeks.
Texas State (6-5) led 13-0 after the first quarter on Terrence Franks' 1-yard run — following Michael Gilmore's 81-yard kickoff return — and a 63-yard fumble return by Michael Ebbitt.
Nathan Dick threw three touchdown passes, the last one to Thomas Hart with 6:26 remaining to put the Bears ahead 20-19. A 2-point conversion try failed, and Texas State went ahead 22-20 on Will Johnson's 48-yard field goal with 4:16 to go.
