JONESBORO, AR - One week ago Michael Dyer reaffirmed his commitment to Arkansas State, now he no longer has that option.

Arkansas State Head Football Coach Gus Malzahn issued a statement today that the junior running back has been dismissed from the football team for violating team rules.

“I am truly disappointed that it didn’t work out here at ASU for Mike,” said Malzahn. “I wish Mike nothing but the best in the future.”

Dyer was not eligible for the 2012 season after transferring from Auburn, but Red Wolf fans had high hopes for the former Little Rock Christian star who took home offensive MVP honors in the 2011 BCS national championship game.

No word yet on Dyer's future, but due to the NCAA's "double-transfer" policy, he won't be eligible to play this season, regardless of what school he attends.

Another athlete that thinks he's above the laws the rest of us have to abide by. What's new? I read recently that NFL players are setting a record for off season arrests. I think all those hits to the head really are scrambling what brain cells they do have.

A man in Hot Springs, Arkansas decided to write a book About churches around the country. He started by flying To San Francisco and started working east from there. Going To very large churches, he began taking photographs and Making notes. He spotted a golden telephone on the Vestibule walls and was intrigued with a sign, which read "Calls: $10,000 a minute." Seeking out the pastor he asked about the Phone and the sign. The pastor answered that this golden Phone is, in fact, a direct line to heaven and if he pays The price he can talk directly to GOD, The man thanked the pastor and continued on his way. As he continued to visit churches in Seattle , Salt Lake , St. Louis, Chicago , Milwaukee , and many cities and towns all Around the United States , he found more phones, with the Same sign, and the same answer from each pastor. Finally, he arrived in Louisiana , upon entering a Church in the beautiful state of Louisiana Behold- he saw the usual golden telephone. But THIS time, the sign read, "Calls: 35 cents". Fascinated, he asked to talk to the pastor, "Pastor, I have been in cities all across the country and in Each church I have found a golden telephone and have Been told it is a direct line to Heaven and that I could talk to GOD, But in the other churches the cost was $10,000 a minute. Your sign reads only 35 cents a call. Why?" As a Cajun, I love this part ..... The pastor, smiling broadly, replied, "Son, you're in Louisiana now - you're in God's Country. It's a local call." American by Birth - Cajun by the Grace of God.
