HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — Ashley Hipps scored 16 points to lead Greenland to a 43-35 overtime win over Green Forest in the girls Class 3A Arkansas state championship game.
Hipps also sent the game into overtime with a drive and basket with 10 seconds remaining in regulation to tie it at 31-31. The Lady Pirates (30-5) then outscored the Lady Tigers 12-4 in the extra period.
The title is the fourth for Greenland, the school's first since 2002.
Holland Craise added 10 points for the Lady Pirates, who outscored Green Forest 18-5 to end the game.
Nikki Mullen led the Lady Tigers with 16 points. The loss for Green Forest (28-8) was its fourth to Greenland this season.
