Little Rock tops Denver 64-57 in Sun Belt showdown

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — D'Andre Williams had 15 points and five assists as Arkansas-Little Rock defeated Denver 64-57 Saturday night to take over sole possession of first place in the West Division of the Sun Belt Conference.

Ben Dillard added 14 for the Trojans (10-13, 7-2 Sun Belt), and Courtney Jackson had 13 points and eight rebounds.

Denver (16-6, 6-3) got 19 points from Brian Stafford and 14 from Brett Olson. Chris Udofia added 11 points and nine rebounds for the Pioneers, who are now 0-11 in Little Rock.

The Trojans started slow, going scoreless for the first 5:28 of the game before pulling away for a 29-24 halftime lead. After Denver got within 33-32 with 16:36 to play, Little Rock used a 13-4 run to build a double-digit lead and held on from there.

Little Rock, which swept the season series with Denver, committed just eight turnovers compared to 17 for the Pioneers.
