JONESBORO, AR – Arkansas State head football coach Gus Malzahn announced Thursday that junior running back and Auburn transfer Michael Dyer will not be eligible to compete with the Red Wolves during the 2012 season due to NCAA transfer regulations.

The NCAA issued a final ruling today denying a waiver request submitted by the ASU Department of Athletics which would have allowed Dyer to become immediately eligible to compete in the 2012 season.

Dyer went through ASU’s spring camp this year after transferring from Auburn following his sophomore season in 2011. The 5-9, 210-pound junior tailback will have two years of eligibility remaining at Arkansas State starting with the 2013 season.

It's kind of interesting that all of this went on at Auburn after graduating from LRCA. I guess he wasn't paying too much attention during all of those classes...so much for their pride and joy.

@justthefacts, why cant he be on a team? is there a law or rule that says if you do something stupid you cant go to college? he was never not even for a second auburns star running back also. @speakingup you are right he needs maturity more then playing time. the kid is an idiot and he is selfish. thats why he is in the position he is in. he should be in the nfl right now or at least after this season. he has not good film to see because he cant get on the field enough. he is a sec running back taking a step down to ASU so even if he has great numbers they will not be respected. he wont get a huge deal going intl the nfl becasue he has ruined that. he can still be a millionaire if his attitude changes and he works really hard. ton of talent ton of work to do

Kicked out of AUBURN ! Auburn's former star running back, Michael Dyer, took the stand and testified the gun used in the robbery was his and that his teammates asked to use it in the crime. Why is he even on a team ?

Given some of his choices in Auburn.... (outside of football) and extra year to gain maturity before going to the NFL may benefit the future millionaire more than he realizes... Use it to your advantage Michael
