Nathan Dick named SLC Player of the Week

CONWAY, AR - University of Central Arkansas quarterback Nathan Dick, on the strength of a five-touchdown performance against Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday, was named the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Dick, a senior from Allen, Texas and transfer from the University of Arkansas, completed 20 of 28 passes for 299 yards with five touchdowns and one interception in UCA’s 55-29 victory. Dick completed touchdown passes to five different receivers as the Bears piled up a season-high 586 yards of total offense. Dick earned the L.B. Jackman Award that goes to the outstanding player in the Homecoming game each year.

Dick has now thrown for 2,017 yards and 22 touchdowns and is completing 66.4 percent of his passes this season. He is sixth all-time at UCA in passing yards with 4,685 and fourth in completions with 412.

The Bears, riding a five-game winning streak, continue Southland Conference play this weekend at Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La. Kickoff is 3:05 p.m. on the Southland Television Network.
