FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas senior C’eira Ricketts earned Southeastern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors, the league office announced today.
Ricketts, a 5-9 guard from Louisville, Ky., paced Arkansas to a 2-1 season-opening weekend at the WBI Tip Off Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla. She earned tournament MVP honors after leading Arkansas to an upset win over No. 13 Florida State on the final day of play.
Ricketts was one point shy of tying her career-best scoring 28 points in a win over South Florida. She was also close to a triple double with nine rebounds and eight steals in the game.
For the weekend, Ricketts scored 46 points, had 17 rebounds, 12 assists and 11 steals in three games played back-to-back-to-back.
Ricketts and the Razorbacks open at home hosting Texas-Arlington Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. in Bud Walton Arena.
