FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Perhaps no team enters the Arkansas high school playoffs with more momentum than Class 7A's Springdale Har-Ber, despite losing its last game of the regular season.
Even though the No. 8 Wildcats (7-3) lost 28-14 to No. 1 Bentonville last week, they played one of their best games of the year in doing so. Har-Ber became the first team to avoid the 35-point sportsmanship rule by the Tigers this season, keeping the game close into the second half.
The Wildcats earned the No. 3 seed from the 7A-West Conference and a home game to open the playoffs this week against Little Rock Central (5-5).
Bentonville, Fort Smith Southside, Conway and North Little Rock each have byes the first week.
