HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — Jammar Sturdivant scored 22 points as East Poinsett County won its second straight title with a 60-54 win over Junction City in the boys Arkansas Class 2A state championship game.
The title is the third in school history for the Warriors (30-2), all coming since 2004.
East Poinsett County led by as many as 15 points in the fourth quarter, but the Dragons (24-7) cut the lead to as few as four points in the closing minute. Jori Ford, however, scored underneath for the Warriors with 19 seconds remaining to secure the win.
AJ Turner had 14 points and 15 rebounds for East Poinsett County, while Darius Barnes added 10 points.
Chris Williams led Junction City with 20 points, and Dorian Evans added 18.
