LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Arkansas-Little Rock women's basketball team will open Sun Belt Conference play against an alumnus and her North Texas squad.
On Wednesday, the Trojans will take on a Mean Green team steered by first-year head coach Karen Aston, a former Arkansas-Little Rock women's basketball player and graduate.
Arkansas-Little Rock improved to 4-8 overall last Wednesday with a 72-63 victory over Seattle. Taylor Gault scored 25 points to lead the Trojans.
North Texas (7-6) is on a four-game losing streak, having dropped its last game 67-64 to Nicholls in overtime. The Mean Green will be led by Jasmine Godbolt, who is averaging 13.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
Arkansas-Little Rock leads the series 10-9.
Tipoff is at 7 p.m. in Denton, Texas.
