CONWAY, AR - Coming off of two huge wins over Mississippi State over the weekend, the Central Arkansas baseball team avoided any kind of letdown on Tuesday night, defeating in-state foe Arkansas-Pine Bluff 6-3 to improve to 15-2 on the season.

Central Arkansas threw ten pitchers on the day, taking advantage of the mid-week game to have multiple pitchers get in-game innings. Clint Green, Zach Barr, and Connor Gilmore worked the first three innings, giving up an unearned run on four hits. Jon Rand, John Kordsmeier, and Taylor Wallace threw the middle three innings, giving up one hit and recording a strikeout. Griffin Glaude, Blake Clayton, Connor McClain, and Ethan McKinzie threw the final three innings of the game. The quartet allowed two runs on a walk and a hit while striking out three. Gilmore (1-0) earned the win, his first as a Bear, and McKinzie earned the save.

Offensively, the Bears continued to score runs by reaching base in any way possible. Central Arkansas had 10 hits, drew seven walks, and was hit by four pitches. Centerfielder Jonathan Davis went 2-for-3 with a walk, driving in two runs and scoring another. Third baseman Garrett Brown was 1-for-3 and drove in a pair of runs.

Central Arkansas hits the road this weekend, travelling to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to play a trio of games against Southern Miss. On Friday, the teams will play at 6:00 in the evening. The teams will play at 2:00 on Saturday afternoon, wrapping the series up with a 1:00 game on Sunday afternoon. The Bears will travel to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Stillwater, Oklahoma before returning home on March 28th for a three game set against Lamar.
