Owings Mills, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Veteran cornerbacks Aaron Ross and Dominique Franks were among five players signed by the Baltimore Ravens on Friday.
Ross, a former first-round pick of the Giants and member of New York's Super Bowl champion teams during the 2007 and 2011 seasons, has started 52 games over a seven-year NFL career. The 31-year-old played in the first four games of the 2013 campaign before the Giants placed him on injured reserve with a back problem.
Franks appeared in all 16 games with the Atlanta Falcons over the past two seasons, primarily as a special-teamer. The 2010 fifth-round pick has totaled 30 tackles and three interceptions over 48 career contests, all with Atlanta.
The Ravens also signed linebackers Austin Spitler and Nick DiMarco as well as wide receiver Mike Willie.
Spitler is the most experienced of the latter group, having played in 55 games as a special-teams ace for the Miami Dolphins over the previous four seasons.
