4 Stolen Pit Bulls Found in Texarkana, 2 Still Missing

The animals were taken last week from the city's animal shelter.
TEXARKANA, AR (KTAL) - Four of six pit bulls stolen last week from the Texarkana Animal Shelter have been found.

Two juveniles are behind bars in the case. Police say on Jan. 13, they broke into the facility and took the dogs, along with vaccinations and dog food.

On Monday, Animal Control Officer Jackie Mullins said the agency was happy to get the dogs back and hopes the others can also be found.

Police say when the suspects were caught, they told officers all the dogs ran away.

Mullins says it's a small miracle the animals were found safe and he wants justice in the case that put a hardship on the shelter.

He says he hopes the jailed juveniles learn from their mistake.

The juveniles have been charged with Commercial Burglary, 2 counts of Breaking or Entering, Theft & Criminal Mischief.
