Ark. Treasurer Candidate Caught on Tape Intimidating Opponent

A candidate for Arkansas treasurer was caught on tape trying to force one of his opponents out of the race.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- A candidate for Arkansas treasurer was caught on tape trying to force one of his opponents out of the race.

The video, recorded in the early morning hours of Oct. 18, was released earlier this week, showing State Representative Duncan Baird, a candidate for treasurer, and other republican politicians visiting the Capitol and asking security if they can go to the roof.

Baird later recorded a meeting with one of his opponents in the treasurer's race, Dennis Milligan. In that tape obtained by our news partner Talk Business, Milligan is heard referencing the video and trying to intimidate Baird out of the race.

"Look, I'm not releasing this info," Milligan says. "Other people have said. Here's the bottom line: You're finding a new career. You're not gonna run for state treasurer. OK? Unless you want to see this on the 7 p.m. news."

On Thursday, Milligan denied he ever tried to force Baird out of the treasurer's race on KARN Radio.
