New Britain, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Central Connecticut State named University of New Haven football coach Pete Rossomando as the 13th head coach in Blue Devils history on Wednesday.

Rossomando, 41, will be introduced at a news conference on campus Friday. He signed a four-year agreement.

"His football pedigree is widely respected, and he has honored and validated that pedigree with his coaching record," CCSU athletic director Paul Schlickmann said.

Rossomando, who has 20 years of collegiate coaching experience, turned New Haven into an NCAA Division II power while compiling a 42-13 record the last five seasons.

He led the Chargers to three consecutive Northeast-10 Conference titles from 2010-12. They advanced to the Division II quarterfinals in 2011, and he was named the division's national coach of the year in 2012.

Rossomando takes over for Jeff McInerney, who announced his resignation in November after eight seasons with the FCS program. The Blue Devils were 4-8 this past season, including 2-4 in the Northeast Conference.
