Col. Conrad Reynolds Announces Bid for 2nd Congressional District

Reynolds becomes the second Republican to announce his candidacy today.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Another candidate has announced his intentions to run for U.S. House of Representatives District 2.

In a news release issued shortly after noon on Tuesday, Col. Conrad Reynolds says he will discuss his decision to run for the seat being vacated by Tim Griffin on a local radio show later in the afternoon.

Reynolds issued the following statement in the news release:

"I believe that following the retirement of my friend, Tim Griffin, we must continue to have a strong, conservative leader in Congress to represent the values of Central Arkansas.

“I believe that Americans are looking for a leader they can trust.  They want someone in Congress who speaks for them and who gets things done,” said Reynolds. “That’s what I did in the United States Army, and that is what I will do when I go to Congress.”

Reynolds becomes the second Republican candidate to join the race, as French Hill announced his campaign shortly after 11:30 Tuesday morning.

Former North Little Rock Mayor Patrick Henry Hays (D) announced his campaign last week after Griffin announced he would not seek a third term.
