LITTLE ROCK, AR - An 11-year-old Arkansas girl missing her service dog because investigators say the dog's trainer wouldn't give him back.

Diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at age six Alayna Barnes relies on the dog to alert her before her blood sugar levels drop or go too high.

Tonight, what she's going through to get her dog back.

11-year-old Alayna Barnes has type one juvenile diabetes.

She used to have a service dog to help her but he was sent back to his trainer Julia Noyse in Colorado because the family didn't think he was doing his job.

But Noyse refused to return Major saying the family abused him.

"Everyone knows what our dog looked like when he left our hands."

The dog went to school with Alayna and was embraced by the family and community, a community that helped the family raise the $20,000 to buy him..

"To us it's not just our dog. This is a community effort that pulled together to make this happen for our daughter.

But now his trainer alledged breached of contract and the family would not get the dog nor their money back.

So St. Francis County Sheriff Bobby May stepped in and had the trainer arrested for theft of property.

He even wanted to get a governor's warrant to get her to Arkansas for what he felt was a scam.

But while legal rambling was going on the person at the center of all this said,

"I just want my dog back. I want my friend back."

And today her wish came true.

"When my blood sugar goes high or low he barks."

A little girl reunited with her life saving companion.

"I'm so glad to have him back."

Today I talked with St. Francis County Sheriff Bobby May. He wanted to get the dog trainer Julia Noyse prosecuted in Arkansas for trying to what he called steal the dog from the family.

But he said the most important thing is that the life-saving dog is back in Arkansas with Alayna.
