LITTLE ROCK, AR - An Arkansas lottery player has won $160,000 in the Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) game.
The winning ticket in the May 13 drawing was purchased at the Tobacco Superstore on Johnson Ave. in Jonesboro. The winning numbers were 5 - 15 - 21 - 31 - 33.
The ticketholder was Herschel Caples of Jonesboro. He says he has no plans yet for his winnings.
The grand prize amount is one of the largest won in the game's history.
Lottery officials say the game's popularity and this jackpot amount is a direct result of Arkansas player interest and excitement in the game. The game had not reached this level of play, number of consecutive draws without a top prize winner (27 draws) or jackpot range since the record-breaking $410,000 jackpot run that was won on April 10.
There have been 536 drawings since the game’s first on August 27, 2012.
The $160,000 prize was won by a player who correctly matched the five NSJ numbers drawn May 13. There were also 6 players who matched four of the five numbers drawn for a prize of $300.
More than 28,000 tickets were sold for Tuesday's drawing.
The May 13 win reset the Natural State Jackpot at $25,000. The amount for tonight's drawing is $30,000*.
*The NSJ game adds $5,000 every day until the jackpot is won.
