Arkansas's Mental Health Laws Rank High, But Their Use Disappoints

A look at the numbers in a study by the Treatment Advocacy Center in Virginia.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Natural State ranks right in the middle when it comes to quality and use of mental health treatment laws.

That's according to a study by the Treatment Advocacy Center in Virginia.

Here's how we scored.

When it comes to our quality of laws, we make the grade. That includes:
  • inpatient committment
  • outpatient commitment
  • emergency evaluation
Overall, the state gets an A.

Where we failed to make the grade, in use of those laws, the state gets an F.

The biggest hit under that law..bed delays.

Click here for a breakdown of why we scored the way we did and also see recommendations the study suggested to make things better.
