CRAWFORD COUNTY, AR (KNWA) - A tip leads investigators to discover a body buried in a shallow grave on Monday.

Crawford County Sheriff Ron Brown says Nick Barrows, 19, and Jonathan Bridgewater, 27, are in custody after the body was discovered near a house on Arkansas 348. A pipe bomb was also found inside the house.

Sheriff Brown said the tip came in Sunday night leading investigators to search two houses in the area.  Brown said a total of three pipe bombs were found in one home. The bomb squad was sent to the site Monday morning and Highway 348 was closed to traffic as they detonated the bombs.

The sheriff said the body had been in the grave for 6-7 days and was too badly decomposed to be identified.

There are no missing persons reports in Crawford County but Brown says they are talking to neighboring counties about other potential missing person cases.

Sheriff Brown says Barrows and Bridgewater are step-brothers.
