Deputies Recover 20 Stolen Weapons, Narcotics from Saline County 'Problem Neighborhood'

29-year-old Jimmy Hearington is the owner of the home where the weapons were found. This discovery has people in the neighborhood concerned for their safety.
SALINE COUNTY, AR - "It's got a bad reputation."

And the perception of this pocket of homes in Saline County just got worse for some folks that live around here

"It's a pretty nice quiet neighborhood, except for the corner down here."

According to authorities, dozens of stolen weapons and even explosives were found inside a home on Centark Cove in Alexander.

"There's been a few people that call the sheriff out here to try and correct that problem," says Paul Bunting.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) was called in to help and 29-year-old Jimmy Hearington was arrested.

When we showed up to report the arrest, we weren't happily greeted.

"You need to get that camera somewhere else."

"From what I gather, all those folks in that corner are either friends or relatives," says Bunting.

Saline County Deputies had initially responded to a shooting and found the weapons, including grenades.

"We know there's been a lot of problems down there, some troubles down there. For you to tell me that, that's really disturbing."

"Any situation like that's dangerous. We wanna try and get that taken care of and get them off the streets as fast as possible."

In addition to the firearms, several of which being reported as stolen they also found illegal narcotics.

What purpose Hearington had with the weapons and explosives is unclear.

"It's hard to go into motives for a situation like this."

"It's concerning they had live around that."

What's important to folks in this neighborhood though is that those stolen firearms and grenades are no longer in their neighborhood.
