Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Miguel Olivo is no longer a member of the Dodgers organization. The club released him outright on Thursday.

The move came one day after Olivo was suspended by the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate, after an altercation Tuesday in which the catcher bit part of a teammate's ear off.

Scott Boras, the agent for Alex Guerrero, told multiple outlets his client was bitten by Olivo during an argument in the dugout. The commotion caused a brief delay in Tuesday's game at Salt Lake City.

Guerrero, a 27-year-old Cuban infielder who inked a four-year, $28 million contract with the Dodgers in October, underwent surgery on the ear, according to reports.

Olivo, who has 145 home runs in 13 MLB seasons, ended up hitting .217 (5- for-23) with one triple and two RBI in eight appearances for LA in 2014.
