Former Hot Springs Attorney Surrenders to Face Manslaughter Charge

Andrea "Andi" Davis turned herself in Thursday morning at the Garland County Sheriff's Office.
HOT SPRINGS, AR - Former local attorney Andrea "Andi" Davis turned herself in Thursday morning to face charges in the 2012 death of a man at her home.

Davis is facing a manslaughter charge in the Feb. 2012 shooting death of Maxx Anderson, 34.

Her brother Matt Davis is also facing charges in the case. He has not turned himself in but is expected to do so later today or early tomorrow.

Davis' arrest warrant released on Wednesday revealed details about what happened in the incident that left Anderson dead of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Investigators say while Davis and her brother told them they had given Anderson money to install a home security system, they actually expected him to buy drugs with the $1,200 he was given.

An argument over the alleged deal led to the firing of the shot that killed Anderson.

Andi Davis is being held without bond.

She will have a bond hearing Friday morning at 8:30 at the Garland County District Court in Hot Springs.

Davis has also been charged by the Hot Springs Police Department with Residential Burglary and Theft of Property.

Those charges are related to a January 2014 home break-in on Chincapin Street. According to the police report, two handguns and one shotgun with a total value of $1,050 were stolen in the burglary.

Police say they were led to Davis by a cigarette butt found at the scene which matched her DNA.
