HOT SPRINGS, AR -- At approximately 6 this evening Christopher Brooks, who was on an ankle monitor for a Parole violation, walked away from a local hospital in Hot Springs, according to police.

Mr. Brooks, who was initially in custody for a Breaking or Entering Parole offense, was taken to the hospital yesterday with a life-threatening medical issue that requires surgery.

Mr. Brooks was released from custody and was placed on a monitoring bracelet as he awaited surgery around 3 pm this afternoon.

Around 6 pm, police received word from the monitoring company that Mr. Brooks had allegedly called an unknown person for a ride from the hospital and had walked out.

Mr. Brooks was tracked to a location behind Burger King on Central Avenue, where he had shed his ankle bracelet.

Garland County police say Mr. Brooks did not escape custody, is not considered dangerous and has no pending charges with the Garland County Sheriff’s Office.

However, Mr. Brooks is in grave danger due to his medical condition and they are asking for the public's help in locating him.

Mr. Brooks (see photo) is described as a white male, 5’8” tall weighing 270 pounds.
