Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Heat signed forward Luol Deng on Tuesday.

Deng, a two-time All-Star, signed a two-year, $20 million deal with the Heat, according to the Miami Herald. Deng also has the right to opt out of the contract after next season, per several media outlets.

With LeBron James taking his talents back to Cleveland, the four-time reigning Eastern Conference-champion Heat must fill the roster in the hopes of making up for his unprecedented numbers.

"Signing Luol Deng is one of the most important free agent signings that we have ever had in the history of the franchise," Heat president Pat Riley said. "He is a proven All-Star and quintessential team player, both as a scorer, as well as an All-NBA defender. He brings the attitude of a warrior and competes every single night against the very, very best. We are thrilled to welcome him to the HEAT family."

Deng has proven to be a stat-filler during his 10-year career, but will turn 30 next year and was not as productive after being traded from Chicago to Cleveland last season.

In 40 games with the Cavaliers, Deng averaged 14.3 points and 5.1 rebounds, about two points and one rebound below his career numbers.

Also on Tuesday, the team signed forward James Ennis.
