Heavy Rains And Strong Winds Cause Power Outages And Flooding In Parts Of Arkansas

Heavy Rains and strong winds knock out power to hundreds and causes evacuations in some areas Sunday afternoon.

MORGAN, AR -- Heavy rains and high winds leave hundreds of Arkansans without power and with flooded yards.

A family living in Morgan, near Maumelle, said they had just come home from church and began eating lunch, when they heard strong winds and a heavy downpour.

Neighborhood resident Barbara Bryant says she's lived in this neighborhood for 30 years.

She says she's never seen it flood this fast.

"It looks like the sky opens up and water just poured down and we heard all this and said, 'let's get out of here this is too much water'", Bryant said.

Some people were also evacuated from a Maumelle apartment complex because of the danger of flooding.
