One Injured, Officer on Paid Leave After Shooting in Pine Bluff

A Sheriff's Deputy had an armed confrontation with a man around 3:00 a.m. near Rhinehart Road and West Pullen Street.

PINE BLUFF, AR -- A man has been shot in the chest by a Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy, according to a spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office.

36-year-old Dedric Jones suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest shortly after 3:00 a.m.

It happened near the intersection of Rhinehart Road and West Pullen Street.

The name of the officer has not been released.

During the investigation, the investigator involved will remain on administrative leave with pay pending the findings in this case.
