Manhunt Continues Near Conway in Capital Murder Case

Police are looking for 30-year-old Steven Swanigan.

CONWAY, AR -- A manhunt is underway around Conway for a man wanted for questioning in a triple shooting out of Garland County.

Investigators have obtained Capital Murder and Aggravated Residential Burglary arrest warrants for 30-year-old Steven Swanigan.

Authorities from several counties are involved in the search.

The April 30th shooting resulted in the death of 26-year-old Mayela Mata.

Sheriff's Investigator's developed information at approximately 11:00pm last night that Swanigan was in a Conway motel.

An exact location was determined and Officer's with the Conway Police Department were instrumental in assisting and securing the location.

Swanigan was last seen at approximately 5:45am this morning at the Economy Inn on Oak Street, where he fled from Officers.

Swanigan is approximately 6'2" tall and weighs around 180 pounds.
 
The Garland County Sheriff's Office is offering a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Swanigan.

Swanigan is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
