Flooding in Eastern Arkansas Forces Evacuations

On Sunday, about a dozen people were displaced in Monroe County and some West Memphis residents also moved due to high water.

FORREST CITY, AR -- Heavy rain in eastern Arkansas has forced evacuations as creeks swell due to runoff.

Ten homes have been evacuated along Highway 49, between Brinkley and Zent, in Monroe County.

Parts of Cleburne, Craighead, Cross, Independence, Jackson, Lee and Monroe counties have seen flash flooding.

Drivers are reminded not to try to drive through water.
