Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Mets activated outfielder Juan Lagares from the 15-day disabled list prior to Thursday's game against Colorado.
Lagares, who had been sidelined with a pulled right hamstring he suffered during a game at Arizona on April 14, will lead off and play center field in Thursday's opener of a four-game series with the Rockies.
The 25-year-old hit .314 with one home run and seven RBI in 13 games prior to the injury.
Outfielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. The left-handed hitter went 4-for-18 with a homer and five RBI over nine games after being called up from the minors following Lagares' injury.
