Netflix Already Has the Rights to Gotham

Netflix has secured the exclusive streaming rights to Fox's Batman drama Gotham ahead of its premiere, Deadline reports.

Fall TV: Familiar faces in new places

Rather than licensing the prequel series country by country,Gotham will be made available in every territory in which Netflix currently operates, plus select other territories where it plans on launching. If Gotham is renewed, each new season will be made available on Netflix following its broadcast on Fox. Season 1 of Gotham premieres on the Network Monday, Sept. 22 (8/7c) and is expected to make its Netflix debut in the U.S. in Sept. 2015.

The deal is reportedly worth $1,75 million per episode. With 16 episodes already ordered, that means Netflix paid an unprecedented $28 million for a series that hasn't even premiered yet.
