Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - With a huge showdown against the Miami Heat on the horizon, Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel will sit his entire starting five for Wednesday's game at Milwaukee.
Vogel made the announcement during Wednesday's shootaround, stating that All- Stars Paul George and Roy Hibbert, guards George Hill and Lance Stephenson and power forward David West all would not play against the NBA-worst Bucks.
"The starters are not going to play tonight, all five of them," Vogel told reporters. "We're going to rest them and try to heal up some various bumps and bruises involved with all five guys."
Indiana will travel to Miami on Friday to take on the Heat, who currently hold a half-game lead on the Pacers for the top spot in the Eastern Conference with the regular season winding down.
The Pacers head into Wednesday's clash with the Bucks, owners of a 14-63 season record, having dropped two straight and five of their last six games to enable the defending NBA champion Heat to surpass them in the standings.
"We're not playing well as a basketball team right now and the starters aren't playing well," said Vogel. Our bench is not playing well. We want to try to get the starters on track by getting their legs back under them and getting them healed up."
Vogel will start Evan Turner and Luis Scola at the forward spots in place of George and West, with Ian Mahinmi filling in for Hibbert at center and Donald Sloan and Rasual Butler opening at guard.
