Pankey Community Group To File Lawsuit Against Planned Police Substation

Attorney says he will seek a temporary restraining order.
LITTLE ROCK, AR-- This week, some members of Little Rock's Pankey community will file a motion hoping to prevent the city from placing a police substation in a vacant community building.

Some members in the Pankey Community Improvement Association say the deed on the building states the structure must remain an educational structure until 2049.

"We are going to file a renewed motion to ask for a restraining order to keep everything status quo until we finish, sort out issues related to this lawsuit," said attorney Robert Kinchen.

City attorney Tom Carpenter says the city plans to move forward and the association's actions have no merit.
