(SportsNetwork.com) - The Baltimore Orioles have reportedly added another power bat to their lineup.
According to multiple reports, the club agreed to terms on a one-year, $8 million contract with free-agent outfielder Nelson Cruz on Saturday.
Cruz, who rejected a qualifying offer from the Texas Rangers, will also likely platoon in the designated-hitter role.
The 33-year-old missed 50 games last season while serving a suspension linked to the Biogenesis scandal. He hit .266 with 27 homers and 76 RBI over 109 games with the Rangers.
For his career, Cruz has batted .268, clubbed 157 homers and driven in 489 runs in 804 games, all but eight with Texas.
