LITTLE ROCK, AR -Shoppers took to the aisles Saturday, all with the same idea in mind.
"To save money. I technically have three teenage daughters but I have two with me today. We just love to shop," says Sherry Woods.
That shopping is all at a lower cost for Sherry and other Arkansans with the tax free weekend. Now, with those big savings, comes big crowds.
"Traffic has been pretty heavy this morning with the customers coming in trying to save for the back to school season and parents coming in trying to save anything they can before they go back to school," says Kmart Manager Dustin Dewitt.
Stores like Kmart even did extra for their customers like Sherry by handing out coupons and even two for one deals throughout the store. But for Sherry, she is just happy Arkansas adopted the holiday.
"I'm just so glad Arkansas finally decided to do the tax free weekend. Because before we started it here in Arkansas we would have to go to places like Tennessee and Missouri," says Woods.
The extra savings allowed Sherry to fill up her cart and not break the bank.
