Sting says he is not leaving Britain after selling mansion

The Police star recently sold a house in the British capital, and now his nine-bedroom family home overlooking St James's Park is on the market for more than $36 million. But the rocker said he is not leaving the country.

British rocker Sting has dismissed rumors suggesting that he is set to leave the United Kingdom for good after putting his London mansion on the market.

The Police star recently sold a house in the British capital, and now his nine-bedroom family home overlooking St James's Park is on the market for more than $36 million.

The sale news prompted rumors that Sting and his wife Trudie Styler are planning to make the U.S. their permanent base, but the musician is adamant the couple is simply downsizing after the last of their children left home.

He tells Britain's Event magazine, "It's (the house) just too big. The kids have all gone and there are just so many empty bedrooms. We're just rattling around. But we are not leaving. I love England. I'm still English."
